Spends Days and Nights at the Beach

Florida and the beach are virtually synonymous.

Whether you’re planning to hit Grayton Beach, Panama City Beach, or one of the other dozens of beach communities of Northwest Florida, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Lay out on a towel on sugar sand beaches, take in the sunshine and watch a pouch of pelicans dive into calm coastal waters. Some days you can even see pods of dolphins frolicking not too far off shore. Hop in the water to try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking or snorkeling. The water is clear and warm,  even in the winter months, which makes 30A a popular year-round destination.

Fishing on 30A brings opportunities for  fresh catches of several species including redfish, trout &  flounder in the Choctawhatchee Bay and the reefs of the Gulf support ecosystems for cobia, king mackerel and grouper, which you’ll see as a mainstay on the area’s restaurant menus.

30A offers fishing opportunities from the shore, kayak angling and luxury charter excursions.

Visit Area Parks and Museums

This area features many  protected forests and state parks. A few that you should include on your list include St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, where two core populations of the endangered St. Andrew beach mouse calls home.

Saint George Island State Park, Wakulla Springs State Park, and Gulf Islands National Seashore are other area highlights.

A short drive east, you may zip through the Tallahassee Museum, which offers an aerial obstacle course and ziplines, along with wildlife exhibits and hiking trails. The National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola offers virtual experiences and flight simulation in the famed Blue Angels.

Amusement Parks and Other Fun Outings

If you’re looking to take a break from the sandy beach, there are several amusement and water parks that you’ll appreciate.

Amusement parks offer a number of activities for all ages.  Some of the largest in the area include Shipwreck Island, Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park, Coconut Creek Family Fun Park which offers two 18 hole mini golf courses and a human maze, and Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone for a ropes course and go-kart racing.

Bear Creek Feline Center, Gulf World and the Gulfarium Marine adventure park let you get close to exotic animals from land and sea, mixing education with entertainment.

There are also plenty of escape rooms, miniature golf courses  and boat tours the whole family will enjoy.
